How can I cancel or delete my Cloudinary account?
Last updated: May-05-2026
Cancelling vs. deleting your account
Cancelling and deleting are two different things:
- Cancelling puts your account into a disabled state. You can still log in, but you can no longer upload, store, manage, or deliver assets. Admins have 30 days to restore the account. After that, all product environments and their assets, metadata, and settings are permanently removed — restoring at that point would create a new product environment.
- Deleting removes the account, all assets, and your personal data entirely. You cannot delete an account yourself — this requires a support request (see Requesting account deletion below).
Before cancelling, consider whether downgrading to the Free plan better meets your needs — it lets you retain access to your assets at no cost.
How to cancel your account
The cancellation process starts from the Plans Details page in Console:
- Go to Console Settings > Billing > Plans.
- At the top of the page, click the Start the process here link.
- Follow the steps in the cancellation flow.
Note
After cancelling, you can still log in to your account. The account enters a disabled state — it is not immediately deleted. Admins have 30 days to restore the account. After 30 days, all product environments and their assets, metadata, and settings are permanently removed.Requesting account deletion
If you want the account, all assets, and your personal data permanently deleted, open a support ticket.
For account ownership verification, include:
- The product environment name
- The last four characters of your API Secret
To find your API Secret, go to Settings > API Keys in the Console. The secret is masked with asterisks. Click the eye icon and enter your account password to reveal it.
